Good morning to all, here is a candid moment from Chester and Roy’s day.Hey Roy? You know how you get that sudden urge to run into another room but you don’t know why? I think I know why!.. Wel.. I think I do… At least I’m partially sure,.. Anyways, I was licking myself, no I was sleeping, Then I got up and had to run in the other room, which reminds me of this other story I know, Well.. It’s really not so much as a story but a really long anecdote….
I did have a kitten who got into a wall from behind a drawer running from the vacuum. After several hours with the drawers all pulled out and shaking the bag of cat food, she couldn’t figure it out so we finally had to cut a hole in the wall to get her.
I set up my new kitty fountain yesterday and Blue is still drinking from the leak above the bathtub drain, getting his big head wet. It will finally be fixed in a few days, perhaps he will then appreciate his expensive new water source. I am using distilled water hoping the filters will last longer.
I think Tuffiy is ready to come out and join the rest of us. He was kind of noisy last night for a while. Or Scooter could have been annoying him by the door. All is quiet now. He chowed down on his wet food this morning.
As long as Oliver’s talking, he’s okay. And everyone else is getting a good rest. 2old – I laughed out loud today at the pictures and captions. I sure appreciate any trouble you go through to post those. Thanks for the laughs. Rikki Tavi – I laughed at your little video too. Where there is a will, there is a way.
Very funny video, and it looks like the kitty is now watering the floor instead of filling the tub. No headache this morning after a good visit to the chiropractor. I had nearly an egg size knot in my neck that she flattened! I would have slept later than 3 this morning except for 2 nameless kitties who decided to have a brawl…
I use vinegar to clean many things including the hummingbird feeders. I collect drinking water from a spring about 6 miles away and I believe it has a high mineral content. My plumbing is from the 40s so I don’t mind the expense of distilled for the kitties.
Babe used to drink from the kitchen faucet. I’d ask her, ‘Want a drink?’ and she’d jump up and I’d turn the water on. I only brought her outside on a leash, so I’d stand by the back door and say ‘Babe, wanna go out?’ and wherever she was in the house she’d head straight for the door. Just about the smartest cat I’ve ever had. She made it to 15, when kidney and thyroid problems caught up with her. She was a brave girl, going through a flight from Boston to the UK and then six months in quarantine (you don’t need to do the quarantine any more).
I’ll never forget the time when I, in the military, was getting set to transfer overseas. The night before my flight, I had my cats with me in the hotel room (early call the next day) and noticed that the sink plumbing had a cut-out. Then I noticed that I couldn’t find my Pyewacket! I checked everywhere else, just to make sure, but no she had gone into the wall. Oh noes! Fortunately I rattled the chow bowl, and about 5 minutes later she showed up, dust on her brow-whiskers and ear tips, “Hi! didja miss me?”
Rikkie Tavi: very funny video but I would get tired of mopping up the floor.
We use bottle water in our fountain but it’s not pure distilled. We have a very high calcium problem here. We still clean the filters every week and replace them about once every 6 week.
Just got back from PetCo – the last kitty got adopted. Daisy went to a wonderful home. I really, really liked this young woman.
@Rikki….the faucet kitty looks EXACTLY like MY Oliver! Oliver has 6 toes each on his front paws..adorable. His twin Bro, Tyler, is almost all white with tiger spots and tail. He doesn’t have the 6 toes although the claws where his ‘thumbs’ would be are very thick…like Oliver’s.
Great and instructive info today on water filters and cleaning fountains. Who would have thought you could get such an education from comments on a comic strip! I love it.
Hi Gweedo! Sounds like a lot of work for water. We were on a well for our subdivision (in the county), and then about 2 years ago, someone had the bright idea to switch us over to Houston water. For the longest time, whenever you turned on the faucet, water came out smelling like dead fish and several people had their hot water tanks go out from the crud that came out with the water. I only use water from that’s filtered from the refrigerator now. >^OO^<
