She probably smacked you so hard for the thing she’s angry with you about that you simply forgot. Knowing Melody, it was probably for a good reason. Probably.

It’s a revolving door Horace. Learn to look as if you’re paying attention to her all the time and remind yourself to keep saying "Yes Dear, of course Dear, you’re always so right!’’

Girlfriends and-or wives can often be mad over several issues at once. Double or heaven forbid tripled grievances require more than roses or chocolates to soothe the savage beast.

In Horace’s defense, it was probably something he didn’t realize would make her mad in the first place—we all know how oblivious Horace can be at times. ;)

That happens, Horace! Sometimes you just have to let the dust settle before approaching her again.

The “you know what you did” was maddening when your mother did it and serves no useful purpose in a relationship. Women (people) often feel angry about things that have nothing to do with their partner but will not not recognize that. They will use this ploy to “wrong-foot” their partner and hope for generalized placating.
