I do kind of wonder what the bosses were thinking (and, yeah, I know that when you ask that question about one person, you’re using the wrong verb). But when it’s a group decision? Anyway, they appear to have backed away from the horrible decision… but I get a strong vibe that they still don’t quite understand why they were wrong.

For those crimes, McDaniel should never have been hired by a legitimate news organization. NBC News leadership blew it.

Hiring Republicans is one thing—they have plenty of Republicans on their staff and on the air. Hiring someone who participated in the attempted overthrow of the election is a whole different thing..

Democrats think that if you repeat the lie that McDaniel participated in the mostly peaceful demonstration on Jan 6 often enough, people will believe it. Who says they’re stupider than Leon Trotsky?

This is another example of the main stream media failing to do the job of simply telling the truth. They have failed miserably because they wanted to tell all sides of the story, even when they were well aware, or at least should have been that one side was making up the facts as they went along.

The media in rural America has been deliberately designed by 1%ers to produce MAGAts. They own the news outlets that broadcast the conservative propaganda. These are people who were raised listening to Rush Limbaugh and then Fox News. In some areas, the only actual news is on the local main stream networks, and they have bent over backwards for years to not take sides, even when one side is obviously lying. And, the people they have coffee with, go to church (or the bar) with etc are dealing with the same situation. That means that real people that you trust are backing up what you are getting from the propaganda machine. Unless you are a really intelligent, involved person, you are going to accept the world you see, unaware that it has been paid for and organized by people who are working against your best interests.

If the media is to be worth anything, they have to report what is being said and then explain how well it conforms to reality. Their failure to do this for the last few decades has produced a population that can’t tell when they are being lied to, and given us Trump.

If any magas watched MSNBC, they should (if they try) note that many a former republican are hosts and guests on the channel. Big time former republicans who are disgusted with the trump direction of the party.

They don’t ACTUALLY wear Democrat ribbons, but a casual reading of transcripts of what they say would tell any Republican they are ACTIVIST Democrats who repeat every BS story about Republicans. [AND, they OMIT any negative stories (which are TRUE, such as Hunter’s laptop) or simply LIE and say ‘the narrative’: “Russian disinformation”. Why would ANY Republican watch them? [I wouldn’t even find them funny; The ‘Babylon Bee’ satire skits are funny, AND often turn out to be TRUE!]

Why doesn’t FOX hire people who tell the truth? Because if it did, its ratings would tank.

Gary, the truth of the matter is that Ronna McDaniel was a Trump apologist who insisted that Trump won 2020, funneled money from the RNC to her husband’s business, made fun of Biden’s stutter, made fun of Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) after he survived a stroke, insisted that the 01/06 Capitol attacks were hyped up by media liberals, etc. Yet, despite all that, her hero, DJT, still booted her from her position at the RNC. Replacing her with his own daughter in law, Lara Trump! I have no sympathy for Ronna, but I hope she takes her old business, the RNC, to the cleaners. Oh, and don’t forget, John Scarbourough (the co-host of Morning Joe) was a former Republican Congressman who left the party after it got too dang crazy under Trump!

McDaniel can redeem herself by admitting the she, like thousands of others, was sucked in by Trump, drank the Koolaid, she lied to curry his favor, now understands she was wrong, apologize, and ask to be given the opportunity to make things right. She was given that opportunity on Meet the Press and could not bring herself to say these things. I was on Twitter for awhile during the 2020 election and the 2021 aftermath, and I must have called her a liar a thousand times. Why? BECAUSE SHE WAS LYING!
