This sort of logic has been in play here in Virginia with Trump Light Glenn Youngkin bringing in national “experts” to run the state, including trying to get a coal industry lobbyist named to head the environmental resources department (he was not voted in).

2018: The state of Texas has won the dubious honour of being named as the most polluted state OUT OF TEN u.s. state governments. The HUGE state, which has a population of 30 million, has a poor LITTER record, and DUMPED WASTE is widespread and visible. – Google

Update 2024: California is the most polluted state in the US. Six of the most polluted cities in America are located in California, with Fresno-Madera and Bakersfield being the two areas with the highest levels of PARTICULATE POLLUTION. – Google.

Litter is unsightly. However, short-term exposures to particulate matter can aggravate lung disease, caus asthma attacks and acute bronchitis, and increase susceptibility to respiratory infections. In people with heart disease, short-term exposures have been linked to heart attacks.

The sad thing is, this is still a more rational rationale than what we hear today- that burning fossil fuels is “manly” and using electric vehicles is tantamount to castration.

People frequently told Aggie jokes at work many of them involving things like: How do you recognize an Aggie by his ring you see ring while while he is picking his nose. This follows someone who I recognized you were from Yale by your ties knot or I recognized you were from Harvard by your impeccable diction. Then you get into the nose picking one.

After they told these jokes though quite often someone would follow up with:

“What do you call an Aggie after 5 years?”

    “Boss.”

My boss was Richard K. Thomas and he was from Texas A&M, a very decent fellow and quite competent. I never noticed his ring when he was picking his nose — if he ever did.

(Maybe I was busy observing my own nose picking. Some say it is a lost art.)

Focus on the important issues. Let the peasants deal with the rest.
