Synonyms for paradigm: standard; ideal. Moral standards and ideals for sale! What happens when the market for “declining morals-balloon” goes bust? Oh, they’re not declining…they’re just shifting.

The rich get richer and the poor get richer too! Now they have free cell phones, free food, free housing, and soon free healthcare including contraceptives! What other society has there ever been with such rich poor?

By “uninteligible” I think you meant “unintelligible”, and by “jabber” you must have been referring to those languages that have been around far longer than our “English”, which is a mash-up language if there ever was one.

Rich poor I like that free cell phone free healthcare free food and free housing you make it sound so nice Yet there are people starving in America and dying from lack of healthcare but hey they can call an ambulance that may not show up and then driven 30 to 35 minutes to a hospital that offers that great free healthcare. Housing in a projects overrun with crime and drugs so the RICH POOR are doing awesome

The rich have made a true paradigm shift of their sympathy, compassion, and patriotism to China. They certainly never had it here.

Actually, the US still leads the world in manufacturing. We just don’t need a huge labor force to do it. Oh, and services surpassed manufacturing as a percentage of GDP over a century ago.

every time we have a war or 2 this comes up. the social systems in european countries are much better, they have more paid time off and better retirement. We are more productive and can be much better if manufacturing would be allowed and pass the EPA requirements.

The real reason is the financial cost of war, this is what is killing this country. I agree that we need to hunt down terrorists, but maybe we should be more like Israel and use hit squads. Fewer people would get hurt, it is much cheaper, and we have a big stick with any government that might catch them.

Brian Ransom: Just about every other country in the over-developed world and a few in the underdeveloped. The US isn’t atheist, despite what anti-religionists post on this site – Mammon is the state religion, with the misogynist sect growing in power. “In as much as you did it…”

@shaggy Banks were irresponsible in giving out those junk loans and baiting gullible people. The banks were ultimately responsible.

Ah, I remember my days in corporate America. I swore the next time I heard the phrase “paradigm shift” I was going to shoot someone. Glad I got out before that happened.
