Reminds me kind of like the Krusty Crab training video. Patrick is in deep, deep thought of what to order. Impatient Squidward suggests a Crabby Patty to which Patrick agrees. “Now will that be for here or to go?” asks Squidward who then shockingly covers his mouth and bangs his head against the cash register because Patrick goes into deep, deep thought again (“Don’t worry, Squidward,” says the voice-over narrator, “it’s all part of the job”).

It is embarrassing to say it, but today I am in complete sympathy with Rat and his elegant solution to the problem of having to wait in line behind a dithering delayer.

This is why I like to stay outside of the line when a burger joint is busy. Make up my mind what I want so I don’t hold up the line.

I’ll bet that this guy is related to the woman that stands in the grocery store checkout line and watches her groceries rung up, is told the total by the cashier, and then starts rummaging through her suitcase sized purse looking for her wallet, checkbook, pen, etc.

a friend was working at a movie theater in high school. the similar situation happens at the concession stand and the ticket counter. indecisive people who don’t know what to watch or what to eat and drink. the ticket counter people when they are faced with indecisiveness, would turn off the mike and say f****** a******. they really hate indecisive people. if they don’t know what to watch or eat, then don’t go to the movies.

I got stuck behind this guy at a Wendy’s once. It took over 10 min. to get up to the counter plenty of time to look over the menu and make a choice. What did this guy do, after dithering for a minuet or two he asked for something from a different burger chain. When told they didn’t have that, the whole process started over. With a huge noon line behind him.

I often have a hard time choosing what to order, but I stand back and let everyone go ahead of me till I make my decision.

I swear that’s the same guy that I always seem to be behind at the theater concession counter who asks each and every one of his six kids what they want instead of being a responsible adult and ordering for them to keep the line moving. Way to go Rat!

Drive throughs are great for those with little kids, otherwise not for me. I park, walk to counter, get food (or bank transaction), and wave as I pass by those still awaiting their lazy-butt gas-guzzling turn.

Mike Peters of Mother Goose and Grimm has kind of a play- on-words type thing today a la Pastis (not quite an elaborate pun):http://www.grimmy.com/comics.phpAlways wished there was a comments section for this comic – found it, but it’s kind of anemic . . .

I’ve also seen people hurry to get to the head of the cafeteria line, and then dither over what to take, and THEN have an elaborate routine to pick just what they want, another to get a “pure” glass of water, and so on..

Some people are inconsiderate to excess.
