Yancey says, "You know, Bill doesn't really believe the loony answers he gives you. He actually knows who the vice president is." Doctor says, "Better than me. After Roosevelt, I gave up trying." Yancey says, "I'm just saying he's okay." Doctor says, "Colonel, he came out of an extended coma, an unknown soldier speaking French, but unable to conjure a word in his own language. He had no other memory. It took him forever to recall even a name, and that wasn't his own... it was Edie." Doctor says, "He sustained massive head trauma, from which he's had to rebuild for years. He recalls only bits and pieces of his life, excluding the entire invasion of France, and he has seizures from which he will never be free. I think he's achieved a lot, but I hesitate to say he's 'okay.'" Yancey says, "I worry about him just slipping away if he won't get out there and..." Doctor says, "And what? ...Fight? He did that, colonel. And he's still fitting together the pieces. The old army pep talk won't work here."
