Adam: Okay. Let's hunker down. Okay, it's time for some yeoman's work. I need to take it to the next level... But stay within myself... ...While giving 110%. If we just make sure to take it one step at a time... We'll hit our stride at the right moment. And let's make sure to promise ourselves... Not to watch postgame locker room interviews before sitting down to work.
Comic-stripping is a game of inches, and on any given Sunday any given strip can be funnier than any other strip. But if you focus on the fundamentals, and you get a few calls going your way, you can get the crowd on your side and give the fans what they came for. The game is 90% mental, so keep your head in the game and your eye on the ball(oon). At the same time, you can’t overthink it; you’ve got to draw today’s strip today let tomorrow’s joke come tomorrow. The other strips out there aren’t taking the day off, so neither can you. You’ve got to show up every day with your A-game, and you’ve got to draw every panel, not just the last one. (The REAL secret, though, is breathing through your eyelids.)
