I’m not a parent, but, when working with the kids at my church "Allan can I … " and I would say “No, you may not paint anything other than your paper.” and they would look downcast and say “how did you know?” LOr “Allan can we toss sparkles -” “NO! You may not cover me in sparkles!” (as I ran far away. L)
