Exactly, and some times for no apparent reason.

True story, I have a friend who was trying to demonstrate how to cartwheel to her daughter on the grass in her own back yard and shattered her ankle so badly it needed a metal plate put in. A very painful way to learn she wasn’t a high school cheerleader anymore.

“And some parts are more important to daddy than others.”

No kidding. I’m even careful with my little 2 step stepladder.

A somersault could cost him and arm and a leg.

In a few more years he’ll reach that age ‘Where random body parts WILL snap off.’

So, yes.

Is there a fire swamp at the bottom?

I’m with Adam. If I take a tumble, I’d probably break something.

I feel very lucky at this point. A few years ago I did one of those Tough Mudder’s with my son and since then have led a pretty physically active life. Up till the pandemic, I played ice hockey as well, but now it’s mostly hiking, skiing, and (new addition) pickleball. So far so good.

You know you’ve reached maturity when you can stop yourself from doing those types of things before you end up in the ER.

the age of no fun seems about right… but falling apart is also plausible.

… and the parts that would snap off would be the lucky ones.

I might be able to cartwheel if someone built a special bannister and a net.

Let’s get out the old tumble without breaking anything suit, shall we Adam?

Nothing has actually broken off, but I have broken bones four separate time in falls: each arm once, my left ankle, and my right hip.

Wisdom from the pain…..

Sometimes.. a bottle of Scotch will remove the fear of trying.. and keep parts from breaking.. sometimes.

Yeah. As we ripen we become easier to bruse.

He’s at the age of don’t want to go to the ER.

You gots to know your limitations.

I have gotten to the age of sleep related accidents. Go to bed feeling fine and wake up with a new pain.

Some body parts being more important than others

At the age when you try to mosh and your neck feels like it broke in 3 places

I took a tumble yesterday when the grocery wagon hit an uneven piece of sidewalk and I went down on top of it. bent the wire on my knee and gave myself quite a brush burn and black and blue mark. Two wonderful gentlemen at the thrift shop Picked us all up, made sure I wasn’t hurt and sent me on my way. I discovered it rolls much nicer on the asphalt street than the sidewalk. So I agree with Adam.

Sad how true this becomes… Thanks for bringing me into this world ’rents… Now I get to worry about so many amazing things. So grateful…
