This reminds me of dealing with a customer just yesterday that was unhappy that they hadn’t yet gotten their food delivery. After looking up their information, I tell them that according to our computer they were entirely right that they should have their order, but that we haven’t seen the driver back at the store yet so I would need to call them up to find out what was going on.
The customer then proceeded to continue to complain to me and when I told them again that at that point all I knew was that we had a missing driver and it was possible he had been in an accident but that I would find out as quick as I could, this didn’t even phase them. They just kept on complaining.
Look I get that when you order food and it doesn’t arrive in a timely manner this makes you angry. But I don’t care how hungry you are (when you are ordering food delivery), your hunger is not more important than the well-being of my drivers. And as long as you keep me on the phone repeatedly telling me how hungry you are and how you still haven’t gotten your food, I can’t find out in any way, shape, or form if there is a reasonable explanation to why the driver hasn’t gotten you your food yet.
