Mind you, in those days, we were paid by the crate, picking prunes or cutting ’cots.

I remember my first job. Back 1969. Flipping burgers at an original Burger King. Got paid a 1.25 an hour. Only made it 8 hours. Had a terrible time trying to figure out how to separate the rock hard frozen burger patties from the stack to feed that flame broiler.

I remember back then there were good days and not so good days, a lot like now. Tell this guy they only need him on the not so good days.

My nephew was looking for a job while he was in collage. My brother said just go to the shops nearby and ask if they are hiring. He got hired that day.

“I was young then” has to be the best take on how good the good ol’ days were that I’ve ever come across.
