I talk to myself all the time. No joke.

And I’m not a bit crazy.

And neither am I. Or any of the other voices in my head.

Time to expand the conversation, bring in a yard gnome.

I have had that aha moment! I caught myself softly singing little nonsense songs to my puppy on a park bench…then the optics of the scene snapped me back into socially acceptable behavior. (The puppy seemed to like it, though)

This leaves me nostalgic for ‘what might have been’.

I talk to cats. It’s important to flatter them.

Don’t like Frank? I can be Ernest, instead! (shout-out to an old co-worker)

I walk to and from places singing to myself, on public streets no less. Thankfully I live in the city and there are much weirder things I could be doing. Sunday School songs are the best, but Father Abraham is hard to pull off!

Welcome to my world. I love alone and basically talk to myself all the time. (sigh)

I had a classmate named Frances but she went by Frankie and years later one of my favourite anochronistic tv shows was Frankie Drake.

My grandad used to say, “of course I talk to myself, most intelligent person around….when nobody else is here”. then he’d laugh, and cackle. Miss him. Heart. Hugs. To. you.

Being aware of something difficult to voice is only helped by talking about it IMHO. No matter it’s an inanimate object or your cat or dog your speaking to it’s a conversation that will help you start to put the pieces in place and start to be able to come to understand it better. Also it helps to open your mind to options you DO have to fill the hole.
