Its been my experience that most pubs serve cottage pie, but call it shepherd’s pie. According to me dear old Mum, shepherd’s pie must be made with mutton … not beef.
I’d like to find a place that knows how to make a Ploughman’s Pie: it’s like a shepherd’s pie, but there are pickled onions baked into it, still crisp.
