The dialect is called “Geordie” , nothing to do with a king. It’s spoken in the Newcastle / Tyne and Wear region (Tyne, Wear being both rivers). “Eh up Lad” and “gang yam” (going home). Very difficult for me to understand properly, ’cos I be what you might call edumicated, having a Wiltshire mother, a Somerset Father and a worldwide education.
