The dialect is called “Geordie” , nothing to do with a king. It’s spoken in the Newcastle / Tyne and Wear region (Tyne, Wear being both rivers). “Eh up Lad” and “gang yam” (going home). Very difficult for me to understand properly, ’cos I be what you might call edumicated, having a Wiltshire mother, a Somerset Father and a worldwide education.

But Cockney is spoken only in the east end of London, so rumour has it. I’ve known people from that area and they speak quite normally.
It’s also spoken in American films, when a UK voice is needed.
