As Gene does his homework at his desk, Janis notices the picture on his bookshelf above his desk. Janis says, "That's a picture of Ruth!" Gene says, "Yes." Gene says, "It was a Christmas gift." Janis remarks, "My, what a pretty bathing suit!" Gene says, "It's at a lake near her dad's." Janis walks away. Both do not see each other's shock concerning the picture.
