I wouldn’t want a winter wedding. What if there’s a blizzard??
DDrazen about 13 years ago
I get the impression that this is happening down around the Gulf of Mexico, so winter wouldn’t exactly mean “blizzard.” But that’s just me.

We got married on December 1st in Boston 4 years ago. It was freezing cold but no snow. Doesn’t matter what the weather is if you marry the right person!

Statistically, people who have finished college in the past do better than those who have not. Of course, there are exceptions…Bill Gates comes to mind. But in any case, Gene isn’t a statistic, any more than any of us is; he’s an individual human being, who seems to have found his bliss without benefit of sheepskin. And he’s seen Marylou under circumstances that show what she’s really made of, and she him. At this point, finishing college would be a waste of his parents’ money and his time. I speak as someone with a BA and an MBA, and whose wife is a college professor, so I don’t have anything against higher education…for those who can benefit from it.

Interesting to see so many posters here with December wedding dates.Same for me and the bride, Dec 16. We did it the old fashioned way; in Vegas and by Elvis

@carhop – Gene met Mary Lou when they were kids when the Days visited the beach and stayed at Gus’ old motel.

Actually, since they’re comic characters, their future depends on the keyboard of the writer. LOL

YAY!!!! I’ve been more anxious to hear that than Janis! Ahh, I can sleep now. Thanks, JJ.

How about a December 24th, Christmas Eve, marriage? December 24, 1953, coming up on our 58th anniversary and still going strong. A loving wife and four children, Navy Brats all, 13 grand children and three great grand children. Would do it all over again. Life is good and so is God.

I just want to echo what comicgirl16 said: Thanks, JJ! So many of us identify with A&J; we’ve watched Gene grow up along with our own children. This will feel like a family wedding. Where has the time gone? (Anyone else feeling a little “Sunrise, Sunset”-ish?)
