yep, no more friends and neighbors…we’ve become a society of individuals that don’t want to interact with anyone else, face-to-face. when you walk down the street, nobody even makes eye contact anymore. such a sad existance….

And they don’t know how to handle boredom. When we take car trips, I wouldn’t allow DVD players etc in the car. I explained to my son, “You need to have quit time, need to know how to handle boredom.”.

Consider the irony of today’s A&J and all of these comments being read “online…” (brain exploding fingers on the sides my head)

It’s a matter of degree, isn’t it? Technology provides wonderful convenience and opportunity, but we shouldn’t let it distract or divorce us from the wide world.

I still want a Bluetooth attachment even if it doesn’t work; that way I can talk out loud to myself and people will think I’m on the phone.

For me, this makes it less awkward wondering if I should say hi to people or just stay quiet.

It’s not boredom if you let your mind wander.

The 4th panel punchline (“my own BIG world”) is very cleverly done.

It often amazes me how so many people seem unwilling or unable to disconnect, even for a little while. Much as I love the Internet, sometimes it’s a relief to take a break from it; whenever I go out to run errands or just to walk, I have no need to be plugged in — at least, not electronically.
