Mary Lou: Without our share of the sale of "The Dock", we couldn't have made it two months. Mary Lou: And we dipped into that too much! Gene: Well, it WAS our first year! Gene: "There were start-up expenses, and a learning curve." Mary Lou: "Hopefully, we won't have those next year!"
I don’t understand the comments about “Here comes a baby.” Frankly the last time there was a hint of spark was when they were in the lake. In Panel 1 and 2 today she looks much more tired than Gene and in Panel 4 she is sitting there with arms crossed. I know this is a family strip but there hasn’t been much in the way of soulful looks or anything. They act like an old married couple more than a young couple.
