It is truly a gift to remember and categorize them as learning events. And move on with that knowledge but not judging yourself as that is the the personI am. A smarter wiser person. Well done Gene. Also gives quick update on recent past. Fantastic Jimmy Johnson!!!

I don’t understand the comments about “Here comes a baby.” Frankly the last time there was a hint of spark was when they were in the lake. In Panel 1 and 2 today she looks much more tired than Gene and in Panel 4 she is sitting there with arms crossed. I know this is a family strip but there hasn’t been much in the way of soulful looks or anything. They act like an old married couple more than a young couple.

“It’s almost as if small subsistence farming is an outmoded economic model nowadays.”.Always was.Nobody wants to just survive in till you need something you can’t provide or do for yourself.Far better to provide an excess and exchange with others.Gene couldn’t make his own tractor, clothes or even hoe.Under subsistence living, if you get sick — and you will — you die.

New businesses often fail for lack of start up capital to carry them through to profitability. A new venture needs at least enough capital to pay all the bills (including owner’s living expenses) for at least two years before it starts showing a profit.

You’re right! That’s probably the next big and ongoing expense.

All things considered, he’s lucky to get off with Just a Broken Arm.If he’d fallen Into or Onto any of the attachments that are usually towed Behind a tractor like that, they would have had to keep the Coffin Closed..

doubt they will ever have a kid. she has one but doubtful wants any more. the girl drives the relationship, the dude is just along for the ride and as a worker. most start up businesses like marriages end in failure.

Our readership seems to be in the 14-25 age group, just dripping with hormones.. Even egging the cat to (ahem) ‘reproduce’ … Can’t anyone in this age group just fall abed exhausted after a day’s non-profitable labors? (answer): No Just check men’s room walls.
