As a public service:.. . . Use a Photoelectric smoke detector near the kitchen.for this reason. It’s the older technology (than ionizing) that’s less super-sensitive, but faster to react to a typical (real) fire with lots of smoke.
You only have about 2 minutes from when a fire starts to get out safely, on average. That does not allow time to realize that this “false alarm” is not one.
