Online shopping really hasn’t changed my shopping habits much. Now instead of going from store to store looking for the best deal I go from e-store to e-store looking for the best deal. The one difference is that instead of wearing out my shoes I’m wearing out the seat of my pants. But I’ve worked out a solution for that. I don’t wear pants when I e-shop. ;-)
Can’t buy everything online yet though. wishing I didn’t need to battle the crowd (if I go) at Cabela’s today. In store purchase only for limited stock thus meaning they’ll sell the last one by 5:59AM and I’ll arrive 6AM.
I’ve actually finished all my gift shopping last month. All I need to do is bake the 17 million cookies that I gift to friends, family, and soldiers overseas. But, I need to go to the store today to pick up prescriptions, so I’m not avoiding the madness after all. If I could get those delivered today, I’d prefer to just stay home and bake.
Yes. My store created a “Go” app so you could scan as you shop and just walk out when you were done. I tried, but I couldn’t get into the bagging as I go. You just don’t bag in that order. I ended up just using the self-check, selecting items to scan in the order of bagging, and it worked out fine. Nice idea that violated human factors.
Their curbside pickup doesn’t appeal to me. I often make it up as I shop.

Wait until the credit card bill arrives. That will be very “thrilling”

That’s because you consider shopping a sport.

Excellent, Janis. Much better to pay full price for what we really want and/or need rather than what is being discounted.

No thrill of impulse buying anymore.

I’ve never gotten a “thrill” from spending money.
FWIW, neither did either of my parents. Is that something that is “learned”?

But Bezos and others have altered the world, and took Billions, off of exploiting the weak human vice of materialism/consumerism…

The thrill is gone away
The thrill is gone baby
The thrill is gone away
You know you done me wrong baby
And you’ll be sorry someday
