I have forgotten what little I knew about which way the moon wanes and waxes. It that just past full by about 3 days or not quite full yet?

The word you’re looking for is “gibbous.”

I have seen more of the surface of the Moon with my own eyes than I have of Earth.

Lemon moon?

A moon this shape wouldn’t rise until about 3 hrs. after sunset and would still be in the sky at sunrise.

Lemon harvest moon.

Friday night. I told my wife that it looked as if the moon were wearing a tilted beret. She was not amused.

Some think the moon is only a spotlight in the sky or that it emits it own light on one side only. I guess “think” is not really the right word for what they do.

I too am a fan of the gibbous moon.

Google on the lemon moon: It might look like a perfect sphere to you and I but scientists have declared that the Moon is most definitely “lemon-shaped”. Like our own planet, the Moon has an equatorial bulge and is slightly flattened on the top and bottom – but unlike the Earth this paunch is only on one side.

Saw it out my bedroom window last night and it was 2/3rds moon but still impressive.

Perhaps some of the best moons are unappreciated, but my normal reaction to seeing a moon is to say, “Oh pull your pants up!”

Looking at the last week of this strip, Jimmy draws middle-aged Janis so well. A little plump, nice curves, everything well proportioned. You know your subject matter well, Jimmy.
