I read decades ago that women learned to use a mirror to find flaws. Men do not. Women find flaws. Men do not. But I thought Arlo could have handled it much better.
I find that when I really look in the mirror I find it’s not the real me. It’s some old guy that looks nothing like the way I think I look. I just can’t figure out how to make him look like me again.
All female women are beautiful whether young or old. You just have to convince them of that. The female woman is a work of art, soft, pretty, fun to be with and make the best friends.
The secret is – start loving the body you’ve got when you’re young, and keep looking in the mirror every day. That way the changes will be so gradual you’ll never stop appreciating what you see. And if anyone else disagrees, that’s THEIR problem. That’s worked well for me!
I never thought I had “looks” and still don’t. Husband insists I did and insists I haven’t changed and still do. (And by now I have finally convinced him that all those TV shows and movies are wrong – I don’t want to be flattered, I want THE TRUTH.) I am thinner than when we met by about 10 lbs (been up and been down) but he weighs more than when we met.

Time for Janis to welcome herself to the old and worn club.

Me either, but it’s not a good idea to tell them that, because you might convince them….

Oh, Janis. Think of it this way. You are aging gracefully like a fine loaf of bread… I meant, bottle of wine…

I always looked older than I was which was great when I was 14, even into my 40’s it wasn’t so bad. But now, geez.

I guess in my life I never cared about how women looked like when dating. It was more how they treated me. But still single… Just old and single now.

Interesting comments. Kind of like group therapy on the subject of aging.

The blessing of aging vision is I can’t see the flaws anymore. Or anything else.

Stop looking in the mirror.

I found the answer – don’t wear glasses/contact lenses when looking in mirror – the detail is out of focus so looks OK

I’m with Arlo on this one. I’m just lucky my wife didn’t think so 30 some odd years ago and now she is stuck with me. ;)
