I had the impression that those black light posters were more or less just updated quips from Readers Digest. What surprised me was house hunting being on the agenda. I must have missed that part.

I still have some. Showed them to my Grand Daughter and she told me she didn’t think I was that old. I didn’t either.

The ones I can remember read     Keep on truckin’..  Stoned again..  Eat me..  See it like it is..  This one’s for You..  Gas, grass or a**, no one rides for free..  peace..  love..  & of course, your favorite band

Why would they look for a house?

Find a house? I thought this was a trial. Have they ever said how many miles from home this was?

So when are they going to play catch under a strobe light (stoned of course)?

How about those Magic Eye posters? I gave myself such a headache.

The Farrah Fawcett poster got a lot of use. Just saying guys. lol

I think a lava lamp would go nicely with the black-light poster.

We had a neighbor who had some posters on his screened-in porch. He installed some black lights and invited everybody over for a party. We all dressed up in striped, bright colors and when he turned on those lights after dark it was amazing. Unfortunately, black lights draw bugs, thousands of bugs. Ended up turning the lights off.

I had one with Disney Characters in, {Ahem}, “compromising” positions. I wish I’d kept it, considering how meticulously Disney protects their copyright, it’s probably a Collector’s Item… ☺

So they aren’t visiting to see if they want to move into the guest house? They are staying in the guest house…while they look for a new house? I can’t keep up with the A&J real estate empire

Found my old black light poster (looked like if stairway to heaven met the denizens of the shire) and put it up when one of the grandsons came over. Plugged in the black light and he was quite enthralled. Both went home with him :)

I still have my Desiderata poster. It’s on parchment-looking paper, and now looks like it might really have come from that old church. Thinking about framing it and putting it on a wall

And there were all those posters for bands playing at the Fillmore Auditorium or the Avalon Ballroom that were printed in purple letters on green backgrounds in fonts that were so “psychedelic” that they were impossible to interpret, but it didn’t matter, because Quicksilver Messenger Service was going to play, dude!

The main thing I remember about blacklights is how hot they were. In junior high school, I helped a friend set up a haunted house for the trick-or-treaters. One effect we used was putting a blacklight behind a plastic diffuser. The diffuser melted.

I always preferred my strobe light. It was used for about an hour one Halloween before I had to turn it off for the night. Many trick-or-treaters were either transfixed by the strobe or got dizzy. I checked out the strobe light a few months ago, and more than after forty years it still works. Not sure if I can find a reasonably priced replacement bulb anywhere.

Where would you get a black light these days?
