I think you can trust Hammie about as far you can throw him. But that’s just me.

OK mom. But He will still tease Zoe with it and teach Wren how to practice on Zoe.

Apparently Hammie’s word isn’t isn’t trust worthy. The discussion needs to layout the complete list of consequences if he does. A discussion also needs to be held with Zoe about egging Hammie into an altercation with her. And include a list of consequences for violations, oh wait, yeah, that’s right, Zoe never or rarely gets punished for anything.

Does anyone remember the Dick Tracy cartoon from the early 60s? One detective was named Joe Jitsu, and was a racist stereotype. I doubt they show this anymore. Or his fellow Mexican officer GoGo Gomez.

Only on Zoe, not on Wren. I think we’ve reached an acceptable compromise.

Any responsible martial arts instructor will evaluate the maturity of the student and not teach anything he is unable/unwilling to use responsibly. (Of course, not all instructors are very good at this kind of evaluation)

A jiu jitsu instructor will have codes of conduct that students must follow. That includes not using it in fights outside of training.

Yeah my brother took Taekwondo when we were kids. My parents telling him to not use it on me didn’t stop him from using it on me.
