I’ve never tried swimming to shore in quicksand. I think you’re right about lying back. Don’t panic. Don’t kick. Don’t raise your arms out of the quicksand. Keep you hands in the quicksand, and sweep them back and forth to propel yourself toward shore. Hopefully, you be able to touch solid ground, and crawl to shore.

But what about the wheel?

First of all, “Great Zot” is one of my favorite exclamations. Secondly…what is it about these older strips? They seem more innocent, but at the same time, way more edgy and biting. Obviously both classic and modern B.C. are a product of their times…and maybe part of it is nostalgia…but I like these early strips better. Not a dig on the modern ones, just a preference I can’t explain.

The wheel was preserved for future generations.

I’ve never seen Quicksand like they show in movies & comics.

Actually, quicksand is pretty slow, just lying in a hole as it does.

I understand there are two kinds… the quick sand, and the dead sand.
