I’ve never tried swimming to shore in quicksand. I think you’re right about lying back. Don’t panic. Don’t kick. Don’t raise your arms out of the quicksand. Keep you hands in the quicksand, and sweep them back and forth to propel yourself toward shore. Hopefully, you be able to touch solid ground, and crawl to shore.
First of all, “Great Zot” is one of my favorite exclamations. Secondly…what is it about these older strips? They seem more innocent, but at the same time, way more edgy and biting. Obviously both classic and modern B.C. are a product of their times…and maybe part of it is nostalgia…but I like these early strips better. Not a dig on the modern ones, just a preference I can’t explain.
