I know about the ones that go “kneedeep,” but what goes “gnish?” Sounds like something walking through mud, maybe?

“What the heck do they do in the daytime?”

They sleep.

We had an over abundance of crickets one year, the noise could be maddening.

Critters down in the holler, hollering.

Kneedeep?

In daylight they would become prey. At night they are protected.

But there are many fewer than when this strip was published. Thank the profit driven artificially emphasized desire for short green lawns, huge parking lots, and high rise housing in areas that once held all the good green things that promoted a safe environment.

After that ruckus all night get some sleep after everyone shuts up.xD
