Considering it’s a big box hardware store like Low’s or Home Despot, Baldo’s probably the closet thing to a store employee, that the customer will find.
I have had this problem for years. If I am in any store – alone or with husband, with a cart full of purchases or not – someone will think I work in the store. I wear jeans, tee shirts, sweatshirts in cold weather and boys sneakers or hiking boots – quite frankly if an employee came into a business that I owned (I don’t) I would fire them for dressing as I do. Walmart, Barnes and Nobles, supermarkets, home stores, department stores – wherever, people always think I work there. I can be wearing an orange tee shirt in Walmart or a blue tee shirt in Home Depot – doesn’t matter.
Not sure if it is because I am female and don’t carry a purse or I just have a look of total disinterest as they think employees do or what, but yes, people are this stupid

This is getting nowhere.

You would think his shirt was different from the ones at that store. If it isn´t then it is Baldo´s own fault for wearing it.

This is the same public that votes folks! And before everyone jumps on their favorite political horse; it applies to all political factions.

What is it that when some people walk into a retail store, they leave their cognition in the car?

The correct answer is “I keep my measuring tape in my tool box in the garage”. That is what the man asked him.

As with most of humanity we only think when it’s convenient for us.

I got to work retail in the late 60s and 70s and loved it, but I wouldn’t work it today at ALL.
