I am presently in the job market and I can’t tell you how job descriptions I have read that contained every single one of those useless phrases to describe the job qualifications.
I’m a physician who left practice 16 years ago to go into medical communications/education. Most of my full-time work in the business was as a senior level medical director guiding writers in either accredited or promotional clinician education. I’ve been a freelance medical writer/director for 9 years, and I pretty much get offers for either full time or contract work almost daily from folks in LinkedIn. These jobs range from the most junior-level writer positions, senior level director positions like I held before, and jobs that want a MD/DO in a specialty nothing close to what I practiced. The recruiters basically see I have long-term general experience in the field and throw anything my way, usually in a buzzword laden mishmash. Overall, it makes me glad I went out on my own.

“world class” always baffled me. Where are these standards for a world-class standard in the widget industry?
