Thoughts and prayers don’t go very far

GOD works miracles but he does not work on CARS

God hear our prayers. Sometimes She answers them. The answer is usually “NO”.

You’re going to need a thicker rug to bring the Impala back to life.

Reminds me of the old joke about the lady who prayed to win the lottery and never did. When she passed over and met God, she asked him why he never let her win and he said, “Lady, you at least have to buy a ticket.”

That’s not how it works, Baldo. God helps those who help themselves.

Baldo needs to change his mind set and accept this car as a labor of love. A little of this and a little of that over the course of 2 1/2 years and my grandpa’s old ’49 GMC pickup came together into a beautiful ride. My semi-daily driver.

As a rule God uses people to answer prayers. In this case, s/he intends to use Baldo to answer his own prayer (i.e. put the work in).

That’s not how it works. He will give you the faculty to do so.

Ah, good old transactional spirituality.

Looks like God is into Fords…

You don’t receive because you do not ask according to God’s will.

Faith can move mountains. Just don’t be surprised when God tells you to get a shovel.

Quite overdressed for a normal Sunday sermon. I thought they were at a funeral!

God is just saying you have to put the with in to get the reward.

We apply a gender to God because as humans we don’t actually know anything. God could be in human form like his son Jesus or he could be a spiritual being with no form. Since none of us are likely to die and go to so called heaven then become alive again to tell everyone what they saw I guess we’ll continue to be clueless and speculate wildly. Just sayin!

HE does exist and HE does answer prayers. Not always the way we want but always for the best.

You’re right, our language is difficult, especially when it gets to non-gender pronouns. And, if we are all created in God’s image, then God is male, female, non-gendered, and has a whole range of skin tones and hair and eye colors…and more.

Sorry, Baldo, God is not a vending machine, especially regarding things we can take care of ourselves.

God gives us strength to do for ourselves. Baldo keep working and buying used parts from the auto junkyard. It is a project car.

God does work miracles, but only on things we can’t do ourself.

Pray for perseverance and you will get that car going.

And God says that husband and I should not be married as we are of different religions? We go together so well that there is NO question that we were intended for each other by some higher being.

If gods were more than just characters in myths, AND if they had the power we ascribe to such figures… then yeah, I would expect worship to produce tangible results.
