I’m going to be a little loopier than usual today because one of the smoke detectors I had replaced went off at 3:30 this morning (and I normally get up around 5 (sunrise). Having all the alarms in the house sounding as I dragged a ladder around trying to quiet them (and they seemed to get increasingly louder). 3 firemen arrived and removed a battery from one (and tried the only spare 9V I had in the frig) but I have to get another – and that one is at the top of the stairs where I can’t reach (9’ ceilings AND its over stairs – not the flat floor).
I’ll have the realtor here tomorrow and I’ll be happy to move ASAP- I’m so sleepy.
If Nancy wouldn’t mind having an older dog, I understand that Ron (he lives about six houses down from Nancy and Earl,) is offering to give his dog, Ranger, (leash, doghouse, assorted squeaky toys, food & water bowls, pet bed, and 50lb. bag of kibble included FREE!!….as long as no questions are asked) to anyone showing the slightest interest in having him!
Nancy should consider adopting a dog that’s suited to the lifestyle she and Earl have; will the dog have to spend much time alone? A dog that can entertain itself would be a good idea then-
…or they could have more than one pet, so they can keep each other company…
Our pet friends can sometimes annoy but (lacking human companionship that suits) they are fun. Cuddles was my +1 for events for over 23 years (even turning down places where she was not allowed). She socialized when I might otherwise be too shy.
It is not quite sunset here, but (having missed the last hours of good REM sleep, I need to makeup). By the time I take a bath, I’ll have been up more than 16 hours – and at my age, that’s enough (especially with all the physical work I did today).

Nancy, honey, just don’t rub my belly. You know what happens when you do that and COSMOS is about to start.

A purring cat can be soothing, too. What happened to Susan?

@Bawana, that’s dangerous. All I can say is there are 3 comics today in the same theme – that women want their mate to be like a dog.
I’ve never been a dog person myself, but prefer to have a man who responds with the same degree of affection that I give.
Drabble’s Honeybunch and Claire both want the same as Nancy.
