Nice tribute. Al did some good work. I attribute all my wise-assery skills to the “usual gang of idiots” at Mad which would have served me well if I had grown up on the streets of New York. It didn’t work at all in Sunday School.
Of course, REAL comic/cartoon historians know that Al Jaffe was just stealing a concept first used by Rube Goldberg in his “Foolish Questions” panel, all the way back in 1908, predating his more famous “Inventions” strips by four years………
