Cars don’t kill people. People kill people. And anyway…Cars are not the weapon of choice of world class mass murderers. Guns should be cheap. Bullets should cost $5,000 each.

Hmmm. Around 33,000 die from car accidents, 33,600 from firearms, and 88,000 from alcohol-related causes. So he’s saying that 33K is more than 121.6K? That must be this “new math” I’ve heard about.
That is true, it’s a general purpose killer vehicle. Name it a GP. Wait, my mistake, that’s how Jeep got its name in WW2. GP vehicle became jeep when the acronym wasn’t short enough to say. And they got stuck in mud and needed foot power like a Flintstone car to move it.
Placing the blame for human stupidity on inanimate objects is very slightly removed from transferring human guilt onto an animal and driving it off into the wilderness.Magical thinking.
My idea is to tax them. Guns and bullets it worked for tobacco why not NRA items. The tax money could be for the young peoples medical and burial costs.
Then there’s the champion killer – medical mistakes, which end the lives of about 1,000 Americans per day. ’Don’t hear any calls to outlaw physicians, though…strange.
If you commit a crime and some one dies, you can be charged with murder one. If the cops shoot, and an innocent person dies, it can be murder one. If you’re fleeing the cops, and the cop has an accident and someone dies, it can be murder one. The reasoning is that your completely preventable actions killed someone. So can someone give me a coherent reason why killing someone DUI is not first degree murder?
Boise Ed: 60% of those numbers you quote in your firearms number are suicide events. How many of the automobile statistics are suicide? http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/09/upshot/gun-deaths-are-mostly-suicides.html?_r=0
Almost all mass killings and genocides in history have been perpetrated by governments that were too powerful to be regulated by their constituents, and which ruled with impunity and no fear of any law greater than their own proclamations. How is allowing gun control not genocide, then?Don’t play stupid with me.I am much more experienced at it.

Because with some basic tools I can make a gun and make the necessary hardware for making bullets. So can any other mechanically minded person. If you think that approach will work then you must think that prohibition worked well.

Quite often, if you kept the alcohol away from the guns and cars, all fatalities would do a nosedive.
