Winter has “Fumped” down on us here in the St. John Valley in northern Maine. Well over two feet of snow already, lost power for three hours the other night, and we’ve had wind chills down to -10 degrees F. The worst part is, it’s still November and we’ve loss over seven hours of daylight.
Here in NJ it snuck up on the Dept of Transportation 2 weeks ago, the snow ‘outperformed’ the forecast and caused major gridlock everywhere. There were around 1,000 accidents/incidents and many road closures.
Snuck or sneaked. Whatever, we got 10-12" of snow on Sunday/Monday in northern Illinois. I retired this past spring. At least I got to smile knowing I didn’t have to drive in it 1st thing in the morning.

Such a pleasant season. The days shorten, the leaves fall, the birds fly south, and the gentle snow goes “FUMP”…..

Whatever happened to the word “sneaked”?

It certainly did where I am in the Adirondack North Country of Upstate New York.

Snuck up on us, too. I think it’s the first time I’ve seen several inches of snow covered with leaves.

I don’t mind snow, but I really hate getting “Fumped”.
