Once upon a time, about 40 years ago, I was stationed at Little Rock AFB, away from my family for several months. I did not have a car with me, so out of boredom, I took up running. Since I flew the noon-to-midnight shift, I ran at 1 AM. Even at that hour it was hot and humid.
On one of my runs, I got caught in a thunderstorm. It soaked the T-shirt and shorts I was wearing, but it actually felt refreshing even though I normally liked to take my shower after I ran.
About 20 years later, still adhering to my running habit, but adjusting the time to fit a more normal work schedule, I was out jogging before work. The temperature was about 50 degrees and I had on my sweats. I got caught in another drenching rain shower. This time it was not as refreshing. The cold wasn’t so bad, but the extra 30 pounds of weight slowed me down.
Now I have the internet and a site that shows the “rain profile” predicted for the day. I get up and if it is not raining, I can make a good guess as to whether it will rain while I am out.
Makes me think of an old commercial. Girl athlete gets ready for run. Opens door and it’s pouring. Closes door but comes back with rain gear and runs out.
The gas station down the road had a promotion — If they didn’t offer to clean your windshield the gas was free. My buddy pulled in on a day like that, the guy didn’t offer to clean the windshield. “Weather ain’t permittin’.”

Good thing she didn’t go running. The earthquakes could have been very destructive.

All for the best. I’d rather see footage of the blonde running, even if it was raining. [Oops, sorry Mastroianni, did I give away tomorrow’s plot?]

I’m with her there. Any reason to not run is a good one. Lets just walk fast to breakfast and get to the front of the line.

Whenever I feel like exercising I just lie down until the feeling goes away.

It’s best to be cautious, wouldn’t want to be struck by lightening.

Well, the forecast is not zero probability.

Exercise would be much more fun if calories screamed as you burned them.
