That’s a way of interpreting it, I guess. If it’s a description of the road, then when it narrows down the wheel is barely going to fit on it!It occurred to me today: I always come to GoComics via “B.C.”, and whenever I see the little “Sign In” tab, I think of an old strip where a character was asked to “sign here, please”, and, of course, the following panel included “Sign, sign, sign” as he was scribbling.

I never understood that sign before. Now it makes perfect sense. I guess it’s a vestige of a much earlier age.
