It’s only going to get up to 50° today but the wind is not bad and the sun is as bright as can be. Just a lovely day today. I don’t have any cars scheduled for work, but there is always work to do in the garage.
That’s a good plan if you can work it that way. Sure does relieve the stress somewhat.
I pretty much have the day to relax. Wolfangil doesn’t get home until Sunday and James going to be with his friend for the weekend. Other than pool league tomorrow, the weekend is open so far.
Cleo, Partly to mostly sunny with temperatures steady near the low 70s. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
We can go to the beach, but you have to wear something, it’s not that kind of beach. I got the boogie boards!
Okay. I shudder at how shameless this is, but given the economy and today’s comic about the You’re Dusted t-shirt, I thought maybe I could get a pass for being tacky.

Friar Tuck and I are laughing in a puzzled way.
I’ve had my small minor irritation for the day and am waiting for the next small warm joy!
Breakfast sounds great. I had to do fasting labs this morning, so came to work with breakfast in hand. Yours sound better than the breakfast burrito I picked up in the hospital cafeteria.
Glenn took his dog to the veterinary clinic, and laid its limp body on the table. The doctor pulled out his stethoscope, listened to the dog’s chest for a moment, then shook his head sadly. “I’m sorry, but your dog has passed away.”
“What?” Glenn screamed. “You haven’t even done any tests! I want another opinion.”
The vet left the room and returned in a few moments with a Labrador Retriever. The Retriever sniffed the dog on the table carefully from head to toe. Finally, the Retriever shook it’s head and barked once (meaning “dead and gone”).
The vet took the Labrador away and returned a few minutes later with a cat, which also sniffed carefully over the dog on the table before shaking its head and saying, “Meow” (meaning “he’s gone”).
After the cat jumped off the table, the vet handed Glenn a bill for $600.
The man shook the bill at the vet. “$600!!!! Just to tell me my dog is dead?!!! That’s outrageous!”
The vet explained. “If you had taken my word for it, the charge would have been $50, but with the Lab work and the cat scan….”
League City, Lonewolf. I45 or “The Gulf Freeway” is the highway I have to take home. Sometimes, it makes more sense to backroad it even though that can take up to an hour.
I’m home, now, Bunnyface & Lonewolf. But it’s too nice a day to be spending in doors. I think I’ll take an hour and grab a beer and a book and take in the sunshine.
My dinner is on hold for a few minutes because LilG has some things to do first, so I have prepared dinner to a point and will continue when she is ready.
It turned into a beautiful afternoon here. That has tended to be the way of things lately, rain at night and in the morning then clearing up in the late morning, early afternoon. It works for me.

Went shopping, came home. Bumper thumpered a car coming to a stop a couple of miles from home. Her car has a little bit of paint from my white car rubbed off (and I mean little), Her camper hitch bent my front license plate (I’ve had it for 13 years, a beautiful unicorn with a rainbow) and dented the hood a little bit. She called the police, and the gentleman was very nice. He filed a report and we exchanged information. I think everything will be ok, at least with her car. It’s a Tundra and I’m a Saturn. Who do you think won that battle?
Anyway, I figured I must have used up all the Karma I took and had a deficit. All things considered I’m glad I had enough for work….jobs are precious things this day.

Grog she stayed because she had “one on one ” with Dad. I say it was a sigh, Fellow Baby!*
Speaking of Fellow Baby, did you get those DVD’s yet? Huh? Huh?* Inguiring minds want to know! :-)*
Not yet. The last e-mail I got said they were processing my request. I may get The Avengers first. Either way, I don’t expect anything before the end of next week now.
Grog ~ Thirty years! I haven’t even been drinking it for thirty years. But (Sigh) Monkey 1 and Monkey 2 have been drinking coffee on and off since they were about 2. They were very sneaky! I finally resorted to making them instant decaf with straight milk.
Lonewolf If you ever quit either taper or have lot’s of pain killers for the killer headaches.
Grog, Joe has gotten on me a few times, but about 1/3 of the time I agree with him, but I have no problem, like tonight, saying that I disagree with him. And of course, he has no problem with giving his opposing thoughts. That is okay, I do not mind someone else being wrong instead of me. LOL
Cleo, that does sound familiar. Was she is Wayne’s World 2?
Grog, I was looking for the Sweet version, but then I saw Tia’s.
That have been a solid gold butt crack then.
“Frog Blog” is a clickable adjunct to “Frog Applause,” one of my daily stops. The author/artist is borderline insane, dark, and has the same taste in women as me.
Good will is a customer of mine. I service their electric pallet jacks and forklifts. Not much profit in it, to be honest, what with them being all charitable and whatnot, but it’s interesting to go through the donations. Wifey andI tend to donate more than we buy.
I donate a lot, but I donate to the Vets. They come to my house and pick up the stuff here.
Hey, we just passed 17 years in the military! Only 3 more to go.
I once donated a stack of tee-shirts that were in the bottom of my drawer. The attendant called me over and told me they wouldn’t accept one of the shirts; it was one I’d bought on a whim in Cozumel depicting iguanas copulating in a variety of positions.
The pool is coming along nicely. I’ve recently become aware of the environmental implications of owning such a thing, and am considering filling it in with refuse from third world nations, as a carbon footprint payback.
I’m hoping that “considering” gets me a few political points.
It should be filled in two weeks, and the party will be at my house.
I will provide beer, rum and vodka; bring others that you might like.
Hy, I found this:
The VVA sells the donated household goods to private companies by annual bid. The funds provide almost half of their annual needs to support local, state, and national service programs (e.g., homeless veterans, agent orange related health programs, improved hospital care for veterans with disabilities).
Wifey has dealt with hairy naked men before, and I expect she will handle anything this bunch can deliver. She’s been a bartender at strip joints, chopped lettuce at Wendy’s, and served thirty dollar steaks to millionaires.
Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) is a national veterans service organization primarily serving the needs of veterans of the Vietnam War era throughout the nation and elsewhere. VVA is funded primarily by various fund-raising activities and its membership.
But the way I look at it is the older the era of the veterans, the less the public sees it and unfortunately the less they give towards the cause. Today’s era will receive more in donations because it is right out in front of the people who donate. That is a big reason I too donate to the VVA. Just MHO with a little bit of fact there.
Hy, good. It’s so sad when preventable accidents happen. I actually learned how to swim when I was pushed into a swimming pool when I was about 6 or 7. I think I already knew how, but I was afraid. I got over that quick.
I joke about it, but it’s something we had to consider when we built this thing.
I’ve got young cousins and small neighbors, and I wonder about the possibilities. We’ll do what’s required, and more, but how do you prevent stupid people from doing stupid things?
The preventable is preventable….I worry about the idiot children that seem so prevalent in my neck of the woods…
Yep, I’ve worked in insurance. I know what you’re talking about. It’s not like when we were kids and we got hurt playing somewhere where we weren’t supposed to be. My parents always asked and said, “what business did you have there?” “If you wouldn’t have been, where shouldn’t have been, then you wouldn’t have got hurt.” Nowadays, it’s just, sue, sue sue.

carmy over 14 years ago
Grog, sorry, I fell asleep watching Horton.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
But you were wide awake for the Grinch, right, Carmy?
carmy over 14 years ago
Duh! I love the Grinch, especially his dog Max and Cindy Lou Who.

Hello Everyone
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Cindy Lou Who, who was no more than 2?
I figured as much.
Those two Seuss shows were on the same DVD I bought. I always watch Horton first, and save the best for last.

COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Hello LuvH8. How are you doing this evening?
carmy over 14 years ago
Grog, if anyone other than Boris Karloff did the voice, I don’t think it would be nearly as good as it is with him.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Grog she stayed because she had “one on one ” with Dad. I say it was a sigh, Fellow Baby!* Speaking of Fellow Baby, did you get those DVD’s yet? Huh? Huh?* Inguiring minds want to know! :-)*
carmy over 14 years ago
A sigh is just a sigh…
carmy over 14 years ago
They should have a DVD of “Go, Dog, Go!” Do you like my hat?

Hello Grog & Lonewolf
I am doing okay. Today is my third day without coffee! GASP!
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
That’s three days longer than I would make it, LuvH8!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Inguiring?.
Not yet. The last e-mail I got said they were processing my request. I may get The Avengers first. Either way, I don’t expect anything before the end of next week now.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
I went Irish tonight, but other than that, it’s been close to 30 years without coffee for me.
carmy over 14 years ago
I didn’t even bother watching The Cat in the Hat with Mike Meyers. I liked him in Wayne’s World though. Party on Garth!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
I especially liked the Queen operatic chorus in the car.
Loved the Foxy Lady!
WE’RE NOT WORTHY!

Grog, I deleted my one extra post. Dern mouse anyways. I love Dog Eat Doug, especially having had Cleo, my lab.

Best Queen pantomime ever!

Grog ~ Thirty years! I haven’t even been drinking it for thirty years. But (Sigh) Monkey 1 and Monkey 2 have been drinking coffee on and off since they were about 2. They were very sneaky! I finally resorted to making them instant decaf with straight milk.

Grog, Joe has gotten on me a few times, but about 1/3 of the time I agree with him, but I have no problem, like tonight, saying that I disagree with him. And of course, he has no problem with giving his opposing thoughts. That is okay, I do not mind someone else being wrong instead of me. LOL
cleokaya over 14 years ago
I love the hugs Carmy.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Carmy, you don’t remember the blonde bombshell that Garth had the hots for in Stan Mikita’s. In his mind, he was dancing for her to Foxy Lady.
After Wayne snaps him out of it, he says “I thinkk I’m going to hurl.” Wayne says, “If you blow chunks and she stays, she’s yours.”
carmy over 14 years ago
Cleo, Good! :-)
carmy over 14 years ago
Grog, vaguely, who played the blonde bombshell?
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Donna Dixon, listed as “Dreamwoman”. I recall Dream Weaver playing in Garth’s mind.
One last lyric from the movie
IT’S A BALLROOM BLITZ!!!cleokaya over 14 years ago
Are you guys referring to Claudia Schiffer?
cleokaya over 14 years ago
OOH! Donna Dixon, is indeed a hottie.
carmy over 14 years ago
Ballroom Blitz?
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Claudia Schiffer was not in Wayne’s World, Cleo.
carmy over 14 years ago
How did Dan Ackroyd end up with Donna Dixon?
cleokaya over 14 years ago
Grog, sorry It was my world that Claudia Schiffer was in. It doesn’t matter, she was high at the time.
carmy over 14 years ago
High? You mean likehigh?
cleokaya over 14 years ago
Ms. Schiffer kept saying “Come on who do you think I am.? Guess?”

Love the video, Carmy. I loved the Sweet’s version for years, but Tia really wails.

Carmy, maybe she saw Dan’s butt crack on the cameo appearance of The Nanny!

I just tried to introduce Wifey Bits to Frog Blog. It did not go well.
Now she thinks I’m weird. Or weirder.
cleokaya over 14 years ago
Carmy, when you have Claudia Schiffer in your world it doesn’t matter. Of course the same thing can be said of the ladies at the Big Top.

Movie time.

Hi, Hy
Frog Blog? I’m not familar with that. Is that a Quebecoise blog?
carmy over 14 years ago
Cleo, that does sound familiar. Was she is Wayne’s World 2? Grog, I was looking for the Sweet version, but then I saw Tia’s. That have been a solid gold butt crack then.
carmy over 14 years ago
Hymenoxis, Frog Applause? Happy viewing, Cleo!
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Grog-
“Frog Blog” is a clickable adjunct to “Frog Applause,” one of my daily stops. The author/artist is borderline insane, dark, and has the same taste in women as me.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Hi HY and CARMY!
CLEO what movie ye be watchin’ tonight?

Maybe she didn’t like seeing your “borderline insane - dark side” - or Teresa’s, or both.

Hola Dry! Hymenoxis, you should have started Wifey Bits off with something tamer.

hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Good will is a customer of mine. I service their electric pallet jacks and forklifts. Not much profit in it, to be honest, what with them being all charitable and whatnot, but it’s interesting to go through the donations. Wifey andI tend to donate more than we buy.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
LuvH8, love your spooky new avatar.
carmy over 14 years ago
I donate a lot, but I donate to the Vets. They come to my house and pick up the stuff here. Hey, we just passed 17 years in the military! Only 3 more to go.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
I once donated a stack of tee-shirts that were in the bottom of my drawer. The attendant called me over and told me they wouldn’t accept one of the shirts; it was one I’d bought on a whim in Cozumel depicting iguanas copulating in a variety of positions.
Awkward.
carmy over 14 years ago
The Goodwill store here is kinda yucky. It’s like for beach bums.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Carmy-
How does one go about donating to Vets? I wasn’t aware that was an option!
carmy over 14 years ago
Hymenoxis, definitely awkward! Hee hee
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Good Evening Hymenoxis.
How goes your adventure with the pool?
I went to Carlsbad Caverns when I was at White Sands on temporary duty. Probably 17 years ago.
carmy over 14 years ago
Hymenoxis, actually it’s for the Vietnam Veterans of America, the VVA. It’s like Goodwill, but the money goes to help out the vets.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Lone—lovely to see you again, my friend.
I will provide beer, rum and vodka; bring others that you might like.
carmy over 14 years ago
My late brother was a medic in the Army. He was working at a MASH unit in Thailand during the Vietnam war.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Carmy-
Do they include our new guys from Afghanistan and Iraq? Not that I’d have a problem with the VN boys, of any injurerd fighter…
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Hymenoxis, I will be there for the party with bells on and a bottle of Patron in my satchel.
carmy over 14 years ago
Hymenoxis, you got to remember to make Cleo bring some swim trunks, lest you want Wifey Bits to freak out. “Who’s that nekkid man in my pool?”
carmy over 14 years ago
Hy, I would think so, but I’m not certain.
Ooops! Premium Member over 14 years ago
Thank you Grog. I’m considering putting on a bunny suit for Easter. The Grim Bunny!
carmy over 14 years ago
Hy, I found this: The VVA sells the donated household goods to private companies by annual bid. The funds provide almost half of their annual needs to support local, state, and national service programs (e.g., homeless veterans, agent orange related health programs, improved hospital care for veterans with disabilities).
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Carmy-
Wifey has dealt with hairy naked men before, and I expect she will handle anything this bunch can deliver. She’s been a bartender at strip joints, chopped lettuce at Wendy’s, and served thirty dollar steaks to millionaires.
She’s pretty much imperturbable.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
I think I need to go for a wee nap. Catch y’all later.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Toodles, Grog.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Hymenoxis- Just to add some input:
Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) is a national veterans service organization primarily serving the needs of veterans of the Vietnam War era throughout the nation and elsewhere. VVA is funded primarily by various fund-raising activities and its membership.
But the way I look at it is the older the era of the veterans, the less the public sees it and unfortunately the less they give towards the cause. Today’s era will receive more in donations because it is right out in front of the people who donate. That is a big reason I too donate to the VVA. Just MHO with a little bit of fact there.

Night Grog

Grog, I was wondering where you went. Have a nice wee nap and don’t fall asleep on your keyboard again.

carmy over 14 years ago
Hy, okay, but we should still make Cleo wear some trunks.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Yeah, probably so. I gotta consider my filters.
carmy over 14 years ago
LMBO, Hy!
carmy over 14 years ago
I’m seeing a pattern here and it’s quite amusing!
carmy over 14 years ago
Hy, do you have to make sure your pool will not be accessible to young children?
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
No, I don’t. We have a darwinian sensibility here. Idiot kids drown.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Actualy, yes. Wifey bits has to go get a gate-closing-thing tomorrow.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
There is that liability issue…I have to concern myself with the possible stupidity of others. Feh…see Darwinian comment above.
carmy over 14 years ago
Hy, good. It’s so sad when preventable accidents happen. I actually learned how to swim when I was pushed into a swimming pool when I was about 6 or 7. I think I already knew how, but I was afraid. I got over that quick.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
I joke about it, but it’s something we had to consider when we built this thing.
I’ve got young cousins and small neighbors, and I wonder about the possibilities. We’ll do what’s required, and more, but how do you prevent stupid people from doing stupid things?
The preventable is preventable….I worry about the idiot children that seem so prevalent in my neck of the woods…
“Hey, y’all, watch this!”
carmy over 14 years ago
Yep, I’ve worked in insurance. I know what you’re talking about. It’s not like when we were kids and we got hurt playing somewhere where we weren’t supposed to be. My parents always asked and said, “what business did you have there?” “If you wouldn’t have been, where shouldn’t have been, then you wouldn’t have got hurt.” Nowadays, it’s just, sue, sue sue.
carmy over 14 years ago
It’s not just in your neck of the woods. Parents who do not teach their children properly are all over the place.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
You know what I mean, then. This is intended as a bit of pleasure for Wifey, but an idiot child may burrow under the fence and drown.
One takes one’s chance, I suppose.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Enough of this serious talk…someone will need to make breakfast soon.
carmy over 14 years ago
Are you volunteering?
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Um…
carmy over 14 years ago
Um? Come on, I’m sure you can rustle up some tasty treats.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
My brother just came back from Corpus with some live crabs…you think these folks know how to pick crab?
carmy over 14 years ago
Probably.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
You’re very generous.
carmy over 14 years ago
What do you mean?
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Picking crab is an art. I grew up on the Chesapeake, and I’m not sure others would appreciatecrab for breakfast.
carmy over 14 years ago
Is it harder than peeling shrimp? You’d be surprised at what some folks eat for breakfast.
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Ain’t nothing harder than peeling shrimp.
I’ll show you how to pick a blue crab later.
