I remember back in the 60s I was in New York at a small restaurant when a rather handsome ‘macho’ young man asked if he could share our table since there were no seats left. We said yes and had a pleasant conversation. After a bit I mentioned that he looked familiar. Turned our he was the actor who played the Marlboro Man in the famous cigarette commercials; you remember, the cowboy that had the Marlboro tattoo on the back of his hand. Also turned out that this famous ‘macho’ image was as gay as you could get. We chuckle about that to this day.
