Moonlighting did NOT end up with Dave and Maddie as a couple. Although they did consummate their relationship, they did not officially “date” and Maddie ended up marrying another man named Walter Bishop, a move designed to amp up the tension between Maddie and David again. The show was canceled before the writers could repair the damage.

August 16, 2010–the day “Boomerangs” realized it was a comic strip.

Actually, they did wind up together, and it ruined Moonlighting. They spent so long developing the sexual tension, that without it, they had nothing.

Wait a sec. Moonlighting ended with Dave and Maddie as a couple. That is what many refer to as the moment the show jumped the shark.
