Riley: In science class today we learned that water freezes at 32 degrees. Huey: Yes. Riley: So at that temperature, the water from my water guns turns into ice bullets that melt after impact, leaving no forensic evidence for the cops to find? Huey: No. Riley: So what you're saying is I memorized that fact for nothing, and science is boring and stupid and misleading. Huey: Go away.
Normal saline bullets have to be kept in the deep-freeze, since they melt below 32F. Once used, they are supposed to be undetectable. (Old SF story, IIRC).
