Riley: In science class today we learned that water freezes at 32 degrees. Huey: Yes. Riley: So at that temperature, the water from my water guns turns into ice bullets that melt after impact, leaving no forensic evidence for the cops to find? Huey: No. Riley: So what you're saying is I memorized that fact for nothing, and science is boring and stupid and misleading. Huey: Go away.

Thug logic or naivety, that was pretty funny.

Poor Riley - went to all the trouble to learn something and it didn’t even do him any good. D@mn useless knowledge! (It WAS funny, though)

On the other hand, making a gun that shoots solidified gas would be a nice feat.

Science can be used for good or evil. Often, they opt for the latter! :-) Would make an interesting CSI episode.

IIRC, there’s a Sherlock Holmes story where the killer uses an icycle as a weapon, then melts it to destroy the evidence.

Normal saline bullets have to be kept in the deep-freeze, since they melt below 32F. Once used, they are supposed to be undetectable. (Old SF story, IIRC).
