The U.S. was still pretty much a small government ‘nation of farmers’. in 1929 when the markets crashed into depression. President Roosevelt expanded government, established the income tax and Social Security, and made many jobs programs building infrastructure. We were out of depression and into recovery by 1933, a 12 month hiccup in 1937-8, and recovery on. Slow growth, but our economy was growing again. WW2 war economy and a maximum corporate income tax of 90% brought us to victory.
Ever wonder why our allies, the Brits, French, and Russians were so flat broke after the war, and the U.S. came out rich? We didn’t loot those we defeated for our treasury, nor did we keep any of the lands we conquered, even the colonial lands of Germany and Japan. In fact we started giving Independence to many of our own colonies/possessions. We gave foreign aid. We had the A-bomb, but we didn’t sell it. We came out wealthy due to FDR’s economic plan followed by General Marshall’s G.I. Bill. That led to super growth of the late 1940s, 50s and into the late 1960s. Eisenhower spent big on the interstate highway system, and conservatives called him a “socialist”, some even called him a “communist” saying he had been too cozy with our allies. Then Johnson brought his ’Great Society’, and Medicare to raise the poor and provide dignity for our elderly. conservatives opposed that spending, and called it "SOCIALISM”.
The naysayers today are the same conservatives as 90 years ago. No one can predict the future, though many try. All we have is history to judge by. It is no guarantee, but an intelligent way of decision making. Learning from our past. I think Biden’s big plan will bring another Golden Age for the U.S.A. Then we’ll get spoiled again, and do it all over again, and again.
I guess 402,000 lives is cheap to the likes of the Teitelbaums. Thats the number of US deaths due to covid during all talk no action tRumps time in office.
There is a REAL and tangible difference between the last and the prior, since prior always indicates that it was couldn’t be classified as the last. For instance, the last trump cannot be the prior trump.
Maybe the current White House administration IS the last we have to tolerate before it gets destroyed from within due to intentional sin and haughty oppression toward little people in wombs who don’t deserve to be murdered for their parent’s uncaring and unloving lasciviousness.
Some people think this is the 2nd passover week and I won’t beg to differ, I’ll just differ knowing my internet service is already taxed.

The White House doesn’t tax. And only the last administration tried to ban speech.

If he’s doing the kind of business I think he’s doing, then he’ll pay the tax to keep from being audited by the FBI

One of the bigger tax reforms not mentioned too much is the change in the taxation of capital gains. They will be taxed as regular income.
