For those who come in late, these fabulous fun funnies was envisioned and executed so beautifully and brilliantly by FoXo Reardon, a true master cartoonist who told his funny tales with his awesome artwork alone, without any of his characters in BOZO ever saying a single word.

An especially excellent epitome of pictures speaking thousand words, BOZO also the most pleasant picturesque pantomime where every panel is like a photograph of a three-dimensional cartoon world of realistic-looking depths and details. Such was his powerful perspective artwork which brought to life a lovely lively world of BOZO!

FoXo a rare combination of both sharp wits and artistic talents which is rarely seen together in the same cartoonist, a true master and professional cartoonist whose work quality speaks for itself and as you can see for yourself BOZO is pure gold coming from a golden era of cartooning!

So no wonder that these wonderful wordless wonders still bring great joy and sheer cheer to many even today.

But despite being a great classic of great creative calibre, neither BOZO nor FoXo are much known or remembered these days.

I keep seeing it in old comic strips… I do wonder how often real people tried to look in through a knothole. It’s hard to tell here, on another continent in another century, what was real and what was a common comics trope. Like the organ grinder with a monkey. How common were they, I wonder…

1. Lost glasses are in plain sight. Bozo spies them. Such delight!

2. Poochie would not let it go. Through umbrella rain does flow.

3. Bozo homers once again. Peeping boys they ease on in.

I love the window effect in Strip 1! Fuzzy is there and is that a Hitchcock appearance in panel 4?

1) Bozo’s Lost and Found prides itself on its quick service!

2) Having the dog carry the umbrella does seem kind of counterproductive.

3) Bozo is a literal fence-buster, and gives the kids a better look at his baseball prowess!

A side note: In this cartoon, the little guys are peeping thru a hole in the fence to watch the game.

The Chicago Scrubs (AKA The Lovable Losers) had a similar situation. There was a three or four-story house right behind centerfield. 1st you saw people watching thru the windows. Eventually, the owner of the house built a balcony and it was packed with people.

Ping? Bozo had an aluminum bat way back then?

Nice doggie, before his Coppertone fame.

3. The kids looking through the knothole sort of reminded me of the Little Rascals. :)

I just love the “ping” when Bozo pops someone on the nose or hits a ball. Not the sound effect I would use but I’m not the genius cartoonist.

HEAD WORK-You may have lost them Pops, but Bozo has found them, Have a good day! BAD DOG- Sometimes Poochie gets to be a pest, especially in bad weather. SEPARATE ENTRANCE- Bozo hit the ball so hard, he knocked the fence down for the kids to be in the out field. (AH A 3 Fuzzy Day!)

I don’t think Bozo is in a mood to “let a smile be his umbrella.”
