Yellow bag? Blue bag? I thought you guys were supposed to be color blind.

the cats in my house seem to get most excited about the new kibble as they grow bored with the old stuff.

At 4:00 am, all they care about is how much food is in the dish, not the brand.

Angry Lupin is so adorable, lol. “…Tastes like betrayal” Yep I’ve heard the same sentiment from Captain Crabby Tabby and The Miffed Maine Coon (aka my Py and Scooby) over any deviation in their wet food. Georgia, you are so intune with the world of CAT <3

I don’t think they still make it, but there used to be a brand of dry cat food named Happy Cat. I still have a t-shirt with the Happy Cat logo.

Aren’t cats supposed to be colorblind? or can they make the difference out of Yellow bag and Blue Bag?

oh yeah – when I had 9 cats I had to buy 5 kinds of kibble to satisfy …er…catisfy… everyone! Love this strip – so CAT!!

Cats’ color vision isn’t so much muted as a slightly different range. They see further into the infrared than humans because they have more of the red-sensitive cone cells, and a greater number of rod cells. Color vision is necessary to small cat species because a significant portion of their natural prey is insects. The distinctive markings of insects often indicate toxicity (monarch butterflies, for example), or other nasty surprises.

I once had a cat who was attracted to the color red, and seemed able to distinguish it from other colors.
