I didn’t see your comment about your loss until this morning. We know that our feline friends and family members have much shorter lives than our, but it is still a wrench when they go.
But (as I have said before, and will say again) after a suitable period of mourning, the best tribute you can pay her is to go down to the RSPCA. They always have cats and kittens (all neutered, vaccinated, and chipped) who need a good home, and you can provide one.
When you get another cat (in your own good time, but not too long) you are not forgetting Sofia. You are honouring the joy she brought you by giving another cat a decent life, and the opportunity to bring you more joy.
(Even if you live in some barbarous, blighted, God-forsaken wasteland where the RSPCA does not operate, there is a good chance you can find a similar organisation.)
