“Fine, no kibble for you ’til you get down.”

I love how the woman reserves the sweetest pet names for the angriest cat! “Fuzzy pants”, haha!

Elvis looks so peeved. And the Woman looks so amused, as if she knows her Special Boy will get over himself in time.

Ya know what also works great as a kibble prison and doesn’t cost extra? Kitty litter plastic boxes with hinged lids. Wash them out and they are ready to use. So far none of the fur boys have figured out how to open them since the lids click shut. When a lid hinge wears out just wash out another one. And they stack too. One is big enough for a large bag of kitty kibble, but a large bag of puppy kibble takes two. They are also handy for other storage around the garage and Cat knows we buy a lot of them as with two kit boys we have three litter boxes….we call it “three holes, no waiting!”

Since the Boys know the plastic is impenetrable, it’s obvious they’ve tried to break into the container.

OOOH! Is that a Tupperware Kibble Prison? I swear my Mom had a container that looked just like that! It was even the same orange color! I wonder where sweet Pucky is? Maybe curled up atop his cat tree watching the birds and nursing a kibble hangover? Tee hee hee!

A bit off subject. A poll of sorts.

Someone posted a Screen Shot on Facebook of one of Ten Cats’ books, showing (for one bright shining moment) that Ten Cats. The Chesney chronicles. was #1 in compilation graphic novels.

What bought my eye was that in the listing, People that bought this also bought, was also some Breaking Cat News compilations.

My question is, have you bought any of Graham’s or Georga’s books, and have you bought both?

    Just curiosity on my part.

My First Cat, Aja, chewed a hole in the food bag, and we moved the food into what is now the venerable Topysy’s Popcorn tin o’Cat Food. It is one of the large tins and holds a big bag of cat food. Gaaah. We adopted her in 1983, she passed in my annos horribilis of 2000. We have adopted 9 cats since then.

I’ve used the nickname “fuzzy pants” for several cats over the years. It must be part of the Cat Servant Hive Mind.

I had a plastic bin for cat food. ’Possum would sit on top of it and guard it.

I have an enclosed back porch which doubles as a studio/dog-cat lounge-restaurant. My critters were fine about not breaking into the bags as long as I placed them on a trunk up high, out of reach. Last year the food was discovered by rats (ugh, don’t let the RM read on). I bought large plastic storage bins and trapped two rats thinking that was the end, but no! One more rat came and chewed through both bins! All kibble is now stored in heavy duty, double walled ice chests which seem to do the trick, plus after trapping the last rat all evidence of more rats has disappeared. On a side note I discovered one rat by noticing my cat, “Kitten” was staring intently staring up into the ceiling corner. Up in the corner was the rat staring down at the cat with the same intensity. I’ve never left a room so quickly!

That wouldn’t even begin to stop a squirrel. I have to have my weekly produce delivery locked up in a steel-clad cooler to keep them out of it. The darned varmits chewed through a plastic cooler.

The basement cat keeps upending the trash can because I once threw the empty bag of kitty treats she ripped open and consumed into it. Or she just likes mayhem.

For many years, my parents used an old, locking diaper pail for the cat food. When that broke, we bought a big bucket of cat food with a resealable lid and just kept refilling it. A few years back the hinge on the lid broke and the cats did…nothing. Open bag propped in the bucket now, and our current furry housemates ignore it. Such a change from back when we had to lock up the bags of cat food so they wouldn’t be opened early by a cat with the munchies!
