<"That’s why you got the email, wasn’t it? He, or his staff, got that name from the credit card records. I don’t like that. People do that.”>
“Good catch, Kitten. I’m sure that’s how this got started. Me, and the others here, were probably picked out through some marketing scheme. Mr. Nibbles- like any other animal- can’t use cash, so he’s accessing all these cat’s credit cards. To what end, I’m not certain. But I’m as sure as we’re sitting here it involves assimilating wealth. Sadly, he must have gotten that idea- as well as his language skills- from Human contact. Haven’t you noticed you feel, let’s say, ‘uninhibited’ right now? That’s the catnip smoke. Humans do the same thing, but with alcohol. Our host will say the catnip is to flavor the fish, but it goes way past that. Something smells here, and it’s not the anchovies. Just look at the eyes of the cats at the other tables.” Tre-C was returning to Earth after listening to Megan, and she started to look around. That was when the “accessories” came out…
Part of me is thinking this is a dream, but I hope not.
And it looks like the ghost kitty who dropped by briefly last year isn’t the only one of the cats in her family to be hanging around the Big Pink House. I wonder if they’ve met? And spoilers in the replies…
GASP! It’s that kitty from the Shelter Report!!! He’s a ghost? (sob) And the ghost of a mouse too? Oh my . . . what are their stories? ♥ Those illuminated steps Puck’s climbing remind me of a video game I used to play in the 90s called Commander Keen. I can almost hear the noise of Keen’s steps climbing as Puck climbs. :-)
An adventure! He’s got his pack and he’s staying hydrated! It was so considerate of him to leave a note so no one worries. It’s all bright and starry, though, so it must be good!
Georgia said she would introduce the characters from the Halloween special in a new way. And please use spoilers if you already know the story and want to talk about it.
One of mine pulled this little stunt once when I was cleaning the fireplace and left the screen aside momentarily while I fetched a tool. Turned my back for two seconds and schwoop he was up the chimney.
I absolutely adore the fact that Pucky left a note for Lupin and Elvis (though something tells me that Elvis will be disapproving of his decision to go climbing alone and Lupin may be a little jealous of not being included in the adventure). And the fact that he very responsibly left Buzzy with Lupin for safe-keeping (since one never knows what awaits inside an unexplored passageway; can’t risk Buzzy getting lost inside the walls of the Big Pink House). I’m so excited to see where this new adventure leads! And I’m very happy to see Puck getting some solo spotlight time. I mean, hello, it IS Pucktober, after all…
Good morning and happy Tuesday/Mewsday/Bluesday, orbsters and orbabies! Here is a brief summary of Pam’s (ppyfss) condition as per her friend: The head of her bed is raised, she only has a cannula for oxygen at this time. She was able to scratch an itch on her nose and cough. She fought the male nurse when he tried to feed her through a tube. Her vitals are good. It would seem, dear friends, that she continues to improve a little each day, so let’s keep those hugs, bumps, boops and prayers coming!
On another note, when we got home yesterday, Yum Yum wanted to play the “I want in, no I want out” game. Well, she was out when there was a tremendous clap of thunder over the house. It must have really spooked her – she’s usually inside during thunderstorms – and she disappeared for almost 8 hours. Paul and I were frantic and scoured the neighbourhood several times looking for her. We finally came home, totally exhausted, ready to call the SPCA and another shelter this morning. I was getting ready for bed when there was a triumphant yell from Paul “Guess who’s back!!”. Our little wanderer was back, soaking wet and thoroughly glad to be home. This morning, she shows no interest at all in going outside. She slept on top of me all night, and is now sleeping with Paul.
Looks like Puck’s mysterious cabinet could have been a fireplace/chimney (given the brick structure) I don’t know but I am curious about Moustache cat and see-through mouse.
Speaking as an amputee myself, I’m impressed with Puck’s agility. I can’t even climb ladders (such as those leading to the top of a pool slide) without my prosthesis on..
I want to share an adventure I had a week ago. It was the first cool evening here in the mountains of Arizona so I left my front door open even a little past dark just to let the delightful air in. My two cats came in and I was about to go close the door when I saw movement from the doorway and both cats looked suddenly alert. In strolled a skunk and I do mean strolled as if he owned the place. I was trying to figure out what to do since anything I could think might startle or annoy it. Mostly I was panicking inside at the thought that my cats might go after it. Luckily, they seemed to be waiting for my guidance so they sat there looking confused. I stood still and held my breath while Mr. Skunk (Louie?) sniffed around, obviously looking for food. He gave a few dubious looks at my alpha cat, Rusty and strolled back out the door. I closed the door. Adventure over. I haven’t seen him since. So the solution with skunks is to stand still and be as boring as possible!
I love that Puck is having this adventure, as usually it’s Lupin who gets all the fun! Of course, Puck is the world champion climber, so it makes perfect sense. But he left Buzzy Mouse behind? Aw….
It looks like out ghost friends might be happy to have a visitor. I would expect many more mice ghosts though with a many cats that have been living in that house.
Puck leaves a note for the others so they won’t be worried and is sipping his water bottle before an epic climb. This is why Puck is known as the best climber!
I think the ghost mouse is the golden mouse from when the robber mice fought Wicket. I also think that’s a reporter cat once owned by Winifred Quinn, the owner of the big pink house.
Loving the ghost cat sleeping on his ghost shelf. (And yes, I’m hearing ‘ghost cat’ in my head in the voice of Viago from ‘What We Do In the Shadows’: https://youtu.be/Cv568AzZ-i8?t=42)

There’s a kitty who’s sure there’s he must follow the gold
And he’s climbing a stairway to Heaven
When he gets there he knows if the cabinet door’s closed,
His cat friends will be there to help him
Oh-oh oh, And he’s climbing a stairway to Heaven
If we meet phantoms we don’t know, don’t be alarmed now,
This is the story for Halloween
It’s an adventure we must go on, but it’s all in fun
The Orb will always go along…
And he’s climbing a stairway to Heaven…
Aww, you all know the tune

I suppose it’s a silly question in a world where cats run a TV station, but they can’t suck water through a straw, can they?
In other news, our Mike became a ghost cat a week ago tomorrow.
