Bookstore, yay! It must be getting near Beatrix’s bedtime, and her Woman and Trevor are probably wondering where she is? I wonder if Tommy’s Woman has put out an APB on him, now that Halloween is done, and she’s no longer distracted by ‘tick or tweeters’?
I think Tommy, Beatrix, Goldie, and Alice are heading for the greenhouse! If I remember correctly, the Bookstore Woman owns the greenhouse where Tommy was staying, so it makes sense it would be close to the bookstore. And Tommy knows it’s dry, warm, and accessible – there might even be some impossibly tiny boxes lying around!
Here is what Beatrix twittered: “This Goldie cat seems pretty cool so far. Tommy says he knows of a warm spot we can all duck into to get out of the storm! Good thing, my paper disguise is SOAKED”
Hey, I just went back to “about our reporters” to refresh my memory on which mouse is which, and discovered that it’s been updated and lengthened, and it no longer identifies the individual robber mice!!! When did this happen???
OT: Critter sighting – we have a young possum who’s been hanging around our bird feeder late in the afternoons. Awesomely cute! It looks just big enough to be on its own (my hubby is a bit worried, but I think it’s fine.) We live on the edge of fields and woods, so it most likely will be moving along soon.
Burt is the MVP of this news adventure! Little Beatrix is out there in danger so no wonder Puck is shaking, Elvis is worried, and Lupin has even more to scowl about.
So I finally made my mincemeat, now I just have to wait at least a week before it can be used. Still have some from the last time I made it so if I want to make any pies or tarts or what not that’s available.
Reboot escaped this afternoon and we are waiting for him to decide to come back. Whenever he gets out, he gets savage for the first 15 minutes or more. If we try to pick him up, he’ll do us damage. So, we have to wait until he calms down. I told Jora to shake a bowl of kibble to entice him back but it’s been a couple of hours and we don’t know where he is. At least he’s chipped. Database is upset that he’s not in the house with her. I just hope we can get him back in the house soon. It’s getting cold at night.
Update: Reboot is back in the house. When I went to the front door he was waiting just outside but wouldn’t come in so I gave him my had to sniff, then skritched him behind the ears, and when he wasn’t expecting it, I pulled him into the house. Database ran over to him to welcome him then decided that might not be a good idea. He’s now having his supper in Jora’s room.

I still think Reporter Violet needs a string of pearls, ok, tiny white beads, to complete her reporter outfit.

Needle jacket or not, those mice are out at night, and so probably doomed.

I love the Anchormouse costume. Lupin’s still mad and Burt is the brainiest and most prepared of Cats. Total win today.

Thank Cat that Puck is handling Twitter from their end since Elvis is hopeless at it and Lupin’s still sulking.

Lupin, if you’re not careful, your face will freeze in that expression and you’ll scare your People!

Christina Aguilera may be Beautiful, but Lupin is…
Every day is so beautiful, the suddenly
They steal my mic.
Now and then all the cats and mice
Can be a pain,
Should be ashamed.

I am in a snit
And that is how I’ll stay,
I’ll stay here and frown!
I am in a snit
In every single way
I won’t come around!
Don’t you bother me

loosely based on “The Rain, the Park & Other Things (I Love the Flower Girl)”
sung originally by The Cowsills and now this is sung in my mind by Beatrix and Tommy:
We saw her hiding in the rain
Raindrops falling on her
She didn’t seem to care
She sat there and smiled at us
Then we knew
We could make her happy
Raindrops on our fur
Raindrops everywhere
We love our Goldie girl
Oh, we don’t know just why, she simply caught our eye
We love our Goldie girl
She seems so sweet and smart, she crept into our heart
To our heart
We knew we had to say hello
She smiled up at us
Then we sniffed noses
And we ran for shelter in wet clothes
And we knew
We had made her happy
Now hope is in the air
Hope is everywhere
We love our Goldie girl
Oh, we don’t know just why, but now she’s safe and dry…
